The Kiss that Sparked it All

Chapter 2927

Chapter 2927 novelbin

“I’m absolutely famished. I was planning on a cozy dinner at home, but now… We’ve gotta grab something to eat, at least to keep us going. We can handle a bit of hunger, but the little one inside you can’t,” Francis added with a half-hearted nod.

Imogen, grappling with the distress of his own daughter’s plight, found it surreal that he could even think of food at a time like this.

At that moment, Regina was blindfolded and gagged, her body swaying in the back of a large truck as it rumbled along the road.

Pressing her ear against the side of the truck, she tried to discern any sounds from the outside, clueless about who these people were and why they were after her.

If she had crossed anyone lately, the only person that came to mind was Domingo. But she hadn’t been anywhere near him lately; why the sudden hostility?

Confused and scared, Regina’s mind raced with fear as the truck seemed to move further from the city, the sounds of life fading into the distance. Her heart pounded even harder.

“It’ll be okay. Nolan heard my struggles before; he’ll come to save me. Just like he always does,” she repeated to herself, trying to stay calm by imagining Nolan swooping in to rescue her, just like before.

The captors had deliberately avoided drugging Regina, preferring her to be consciou gradually unraveling with fear until they reached their chosen location, where she’d b weak to resist.

“Mr. Harris, we’ve noticed something odd. Domingo has been frequenting a certain café lately, always booking the second floor to himself,” one of Nolan’s contacts reported, providing a valuable lead.

“Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Keep digging,” Nolan urged, praying fervently for Regina’s safety, hoping she could hold on until he found her.

By a stroke of luck or perhaps Nolan’s prayers – Madeline, who had a known rivalry with Regina, was spotted near the scene. This clue was too good to ignore.

With the evidence in hand, Nolan had his driver race to the Tanner Mansion.

The driver, sensing Nolan’s urgency, pushed the car to its limits, reassuring him, “Mr. Harris, don’t worry. We’ll be at the Tanner’s in about 10 minutes.”

Passing by Regina’s shattered car en route hardened Nolan’s resolve. Once he and his bodyguards stormed into the Tanner Mansion, he almost laughed at the absurdity before him. There they were, sitting around the dining table as if nothing was amiss.

How dare they treat Regina like this?
