The Kiss that Sparked it All

Chapter 2721

Chapter 2721

Regina grabbed her purse and stormed out, her palms itching for work that wouldn't come anytime soon. As for that meeting the boss had mentioned, she had no intention of playing the role of a glorified waitress.

Driving to meet her friends, the more she thought about it, the angrier she got. Why should she suffer?

She was the one who'd been framed, and instead of comforting her, her boss had the nerve to hand over her hard-earned interview to someone else!

She knew she could outperform that male colleague. Was it just because she was the newbie in the office? Regina couldn't swallow her pride. “I'm going to land next month's front page headline, just you wait. I'll make you regret ever crossing me!”

She racked her brain for a new angle and then it hit her the secret romance between Nolan and Dahlia. That could be her golden ticket.

But with her limited skills, she knew she couldn't dig deep enough alone. She needed to get closer to them and coax the story out firsthand. If Nolan would agree to an interview, that would be perfect!

“Mr. Harris, there’s a lady downstairs claiming to be an old friend from the press, wis to see you,” Lucy conveyed, her expression uneasy.

“You sure know how to make a journalist's day” Nolan replied, not even looking up. If Harris met with everyone who wanted a piece of him, he’d need more than twenty-five hours in a day.novelbin

“Sorry, it’s just that she said she has information about you and Dahlia, so | thought | should let you know.”

After all, Nolan’s affair with Dahlia was a well-kept secret, one that only she, as his executive assistant, and a select few others were privy to.

Nolan looked up, tapping thoughtfully on his desk.

“Send her up.”

He was curious to see which member of the press had the audacity to step on his toes and still seek an audience with him..

But when the door opened, he was surprised.

“| should have known. The illustrious journalist Regina Tanner, no wonder you're different, not even extending the courtesy of an invitation but instead, using a piece of gossip as leverage.”

Regina offered an awkward laugh. Even though Nolan’s face was as unreadable as ever, she could feel the anger in his words.

“Heh, | had to say something to get through the gate, didn’t |? But believe me, | have no ill intentions, and I’m certainly not trying to blackmail you!”

“Hmm,” Nolan said, his face still expressionless, his tone distancing himself as if their pleasant conversation on the balcony that night had been nothing more than a dream to Regina.

“So, Ms. Tanner, what brings a big-shot journalist like you to my humble office?”

For some reason, Regina was particularly unsettled by Nolan’s cold demeanor. She fidgeted with her clothes, remembering how they had shared a pleasant chat that very. evening. It had been real, hadn't it?

“Mr. ris you have to believe me, I’m here with no ulterior motive word with you, to see if you'd consider granting me an interview.” Watching the hope flicker in Regina’s eyes, Nolan let out a cold laugh.

“And what makes you think | would agree to an interview with you? You're a novice, a greenhorn reporter. If | were to grant someone an interview, it certainly wouldn't be you Understood?”
