The silence in the air was terrifying. She nervously stared at the hand, not daring to blink.
After a few more seconds, Stanley’s hand trembled, his movement more pronounced than earlier. Monica stood up abruptly and looked around in excitement, unable to speak. She had not spoken for two months, and there was no one else in the ward at that moment.
